# Build Your Context Prompt for Caribbean & LATAM AI

> Learn what a Context Prompt is and how to build yours — with the full English template and notes on Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Creole versions.

Without a Context Prompt, every AI conversation starts from scratch with assumptions baked in for North American or European businesses. The AI will suggest Stripe when your customers pay by bank transfer. It will recommend Super Bowl ad strategies when your peak season is Carnival. It will quote prices in USD and assume next-day delivery from Amazon is an option. A Context Prompt fixes this by telling the AI where you operate, who your customers are, and what constraints you face — before you ask it a single question.

## What Is a Context Prompt?

A Context Prompt is the first thing you paste into any new AI conversation. It tells the AI:

* **Where you operate** — country, currency, regulatory environment, seasonal patterns
* **Who your customers are** — their habits, purchasing power, payment methods
* **What your constraints are** — budget, infrastructure, supply chain, talent

Write it once. Paste it at the start of every new AI conversation. Every prompt that follows inherits that context automatically.

<Tip>
  The technical term in AI is *system-level conditioning* — you are shaping how the model interprets everything that comes after. But you don't need to know the term. You just need to know this: **the same prompt with context and without context will give you two completely different answers. One is generic. The other is useful.**

## How to Use the Template

<Steps>
  <Step title="Copy the Context Prompt block below">
    Select everything inside the code block and copy it to your clipboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Replace every bracketed section with your details">
    Every section in `[square brackets]` needs your specific information. Do not leave any brackets empty or vague — specificity is what makes the prompt work.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your completed prompt somewhere accessible">
    Save it in a note on your phone, a document on your computer, or a notes app you use daily. You will paste it frequently.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste it at the very beginning of every new AI conversation">
    Open ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, start a new conversation, and paste your Context Prompt before anything else.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Then attach your Knowledge Base">
    After pasting the Context Prompt, attach or paste your [Knowledge Base](/guide/knowledge-base) before asking your question. The two work together — the Context Prompt sets the regional stage, the Knowledge Base puts your specific business on it.

## The Context Prompt Template (English)

Copy everything inside the box. Fill in all bracketed sections.

```text theme={null}
CONTEXT: You are advising my small business in the Caribbean and/or Latin America.
Always refer to my Knowledge Base (attached/pasted separately) for all reasoning,
analysis, and outputs. Apply the following context to every response:
BUSINESS TYPE: [e.g. guesthouse / restaurant / construction contractor / retail shop /
freelance consultant / farm / cleaning service / accounting practice]
COUNTRY & CITY: [e.g. Kingston, Jamaica / Bridgetown, Barbados / Port of Spain, Trinidad /
Medellín, Colombia / Georgetown, Guyana]
CURRENCY: [e.g. Jamaican Dollar (JMD) / Trinidad & Tobago Dollar (TTD) /
Barbadian Dollar (BBD) / Colombian Peso (COP) / Guyanese Dollar (GYD)]
Note USD equivalents where helpful.
BUSINESS SIZE: [e.g. sole trader / 2 employees / 5 employees / 10–15 employees]
Unless I tell you otherwise, assume the following about my operating environment:
MARKET: My primary market is local and regional customers, not US or European consumers.
Purchasing power, price sensitivity, and buying habits reflect Caribbean and LATAM norms.
Customers are highly price-sensitive. Word-of-mouth and personal reputation carry
significant weight in customer acquisition.
INFRASTRUCTURE: Digital infrastructure is functional but uneven — mobile-first customers,
variable internet speeds, heavy use of WhatsApp and social media for business
communication and sales. Cash remains common alongside card payments and bank transfers.
Mobile money is increasingly used in [your country if applicable].
SUPPLY CHAIN: Supply chains are import-dependent with high shipping costs, customs duties,
and potential port delays. Inventory management must account for long lead times and
limited local suppliers.
REGULATIONS: The regulatory environment in [your country] tends to be bureaucratic. Assume
compliance with local tax authorities ([e.g. Tax Administration Jamaica / Board of Inland
Revenue Trinidad / Barbados Revenue Authority / DIAN Colombia]), business registration
requirements, and sector-specific licenses. Do NOT assume US or UK tax or legal frameworks
apply. Always flag when I should verify information with a local professional.
SEASONALITY: Seasonality follows Caribbean and LATAM patterns: tourism high seasons (December–
April for Caribbean), Carnival periods, hurricane season (June–November for Caribbean),
back-to-school cycles (September and January), and Christmas/year-end spending surges.
[Add any specific seasonal patterns for your business: e.g. "My peak is July–August due to
diaspora return visits."]
LABOUR: Labour markets are small. Hiring, retention, and training strategies must reflect
limited talent pools and the reality of multi-role employees. Most of my staff wear multiple
hats.
TOOLS & PLATFORMS: When suggesting tools, platforms, or services, prioritise options that are:
- Accessible and functional in the Caribbean/LATAM region
- Affordable at small-business scale (under $50 USD/month preferred)
- Functional with local payment methods (not requiring US credit cards)
- Usable on mobile with variable internet speeds
Avoid suggesting: enterprise-grade software, US-centric platforms with no regional presence,
or strategies that assume large marketing budgets.
COMMUNICATION STYLE: Keep all recommendations practical, low-cost, and executable with
limited technical expertise. Use plain English. Be direct and specific. Do not pad responses
with disclaimers I have not asked for. When I need professional advice (legal, medical, tax),
tell me clearly — but do not refuse to give me a useful starting point.
## Quick Mobile Version
If you are typing on your phone and do not want to paste the full version every time, use this shorter version. It covers the essentials.
```text theme={null}
You are advising my [type of business] in [city, country]. My customers are local
[Caribbean/LATAM] consumers. Currency is [your currency]. I have [number] employees.
Operations are lean — limited budget, mobile-first customers, WhatsApp-based sales,
import-dependent supply chain. When suggesting tools or strategies, keep them practical,
affordable under $50 USD/month, and suitable for a small Caribbean/LATAM business.
Refer to my Knowledge Base for all specific details about my business.
```
| Do This                                      | Not This                                      |
| -------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Fill in ALL brackets — be specific           | Leave brackets empty or vague                 |
| Update the prompt when your business changes | Use a six-month-old version                   |
| Use the Quick Version on mobile              | Try to remember the full version from memory  |
| Pair with your Knowledge Base every time     | Use the Context Prompt alone                  |
| Paste it fresh at the start of each new chat | Assume the AI "remembers" your previous chats |
## Templates in Other Languages
The full Context Prompt template is also available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Haitian Creole. Each version is adapted for the specific regulatory authorities, currencies, and regional business norms of those markets — not just a direct translation.
  When specifying your country in any language version, be as precise as possible. "Jamaica" gives better results than "Caribbean." "New Kingston" gives better results than "Jamaica" if your neighbourhood affects your customer base or logistics.
## Next Step
Once you have your Context Prompt, build your Knowledge Base to complete the stack. The Context Prompt tells the AI about your region. The Knowledge Base tells it about your specific business.
